Q: How will I get the key to the apartment?
A: You will be greeted on your arrival by our wonderful Paris liaison, who speaks English and French and is available to help you should any emergencies arise.
Q: Are you close to public transportation?
A: Both the Sentier and Etienne Marcel metro stops are a couple of short blocks from our apartment. The Les Halles metro stop and Châtelet-Les Halles RER with service to Charles de Gaulle Airport is 3 blocks away. For more information and maps, click here.
Q: Is the neighborhood convenient for sightseeing and shopping?
A: Our apartment is centrally located in Paris' second arrondissement. We are easy walking distance to the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre, the Palais Royal, and the shops and sights along the rue de Rivoli and the rue
Saint-Honoré. Our Montorgueil neighborhood is pedestrian-only and chock full of small food stores, boutiques, designer shops, and several of Paris' most famous glass-roofed 19th century shopping passages.
Q: What supplies will I find in the apartment? Do I need to bring a hair dryer or other appliances?
A: The apartment is fully furnished with hair dryer, iron & ironing board, TV with French and several English language channels, CD & DVD player with a CD and DVD collection. The kitchen has an oven, cooktop, microwave, coffee maker, dishes, pots & pans, flatware, and other cooking utensils. There is an easy-to-use laundromat steps away from the building front door which is open long hours seven days a week.
Q: Will there be a telephone in the apartment?
A: There is a telephone which may be used for local calls within Paris. If you wish to make calls to other French locations or international calls, we recommend that you buy a phone card at the Paris airport or a tobacco shop which can be used with the apartment phone.
Q: How does the high speed internet work?
A: The apartment is equipped with a wireless internet connection for use with your own laptop. There are written instructions in the apartment for connecting to the internet.
Q: Is there a cleaning service?
A: The apartment will be thoroughly clean when you arrive and there will be fresh linens on the bed and towels in the bedroom. If you stay longer than one week, we can arrange weekly cleaning and laundry service at an additional charge.
Q: Do you allow smoking or pets?
A: In order to keep the apartment nice for everyone, no smoking is allowed. Pets are not allowed.
Q: Is the neighborhood safe?
A: The rue Montorgueil district of the second arrondissement is not a high crime area. We recommend you take the same precautions you would take in any urban area. The building is secure and may only be entered with codes which will be supplied to you.
Q: How quiet is the apartment?
A: Although the rue Montorgueil is very lively, the apartment faces an inner courtyard. Our renovated building has thick walls and we do not hear the neighbors or street noise.
Q: Can you help with arrangements for special occasions?
A: Flowers, champagne, chocolates, and other delights
can be arranged for an additional charge. There is information in the apartment about local shops, restaurants, and sightseeing.
